Nearly finished my new fixed wheel ride. It's a Harrison LoPro timetrial frame and fork from 1988 with a 24" front wheel and 700c rear. The rear wheel is an Ambrosio/Gippieme track disc from the late eighties too. It's so nice to ride, and the rebuild is nearly done. Will get some proper photos when it's completely finished next week. Just waiting for Royal Mail to finish being dicks.

You'll be waiting a long time then.

I know nothing about road bikes. Nice colour though.

looks sweet, dont you find the snowflake lacing makes the wheel creak i had it on one of my track bikes but the noise just annoyed me.
Oh and take off the brake you pussy!

Ha, my proper track bike was brakeless, and my town beaters have always been brakeless, but this is running over 90 gear inches, so that would be a bad idea!

If a snowflake wheel is maintained properly, it shouldn't creak. I've only ever had noise issues when I let the tension slacken up slightly. I had this pattern on the rear wheel of my commuter for a while, and it was suprisingly stiff and silent:

Thats an awesome pattern. I was never one for properly maintaining wheels properly so the creaking was probably my fault.
To be honest i would be way too scared to ride that brakeless, anyways have fun

I absolutely love it. Completely effortless to cruise at 30mph on flat. Might rebuild the front wheel radial next week. The snowflake is too poncey.

Don't know, as I don't have a speedo on it, but I've been overtaking free flowing traffic in a 30mph zone.

No. Have some warn.

Here's my current project. It's a fillet brazed Shorter. The disc wheel is going on the back (putting a spoked track wheel on the harrison), and the zipp rim is going on the front. full Dura ace. The harrison is a mix of campag, dura ace, miche and gippieme, but it's only a hack bike, so it doesn't really matter too much.

It's going to have gears and brakes for time trialing.

I found the frame on a specialist road bike forum. Shorter frames really are lovely. I'm pretty lucky to get one in such good condition (especially for the price I payed :) )

I was down the other day on that bike to take some photos for annual. Didn't get any particularly great shots though.
